Daily Thought: Geeks > Jocks
by Jeremy on Jun.03, 2006, under Daily Thoughts
Onyx just went to bed and I was idly surfing the internet while I enjoy a late night snack and some Dew before I go back on my coding spree when I noticed a couple things worth having a look at. Especially, if you’re female. Fed up with your football playing boyfriend? Go find yourself a nice programmer. Want to know why? Read for yourself. And since this will probably be a whole different kind of dating spectrum for you, you might be interested in what it’s like to date one of our kind.
I think it’s lovely that it’s finally been put into words how much more caring and affectionate we geeks are. The next time your jock boyfriend dumps you for the next “hot ticket” he finds, go have a look at the guy sitting over there with the laptop coding away. If you know how to treat him, he’ll know how to treat you. You won’t be disappointed. I can almost guarantee it.
Cool and Relaxed

For the sake of completeness, I’m going to start referring to the girl that you all know I’m with now as Onyx, here. Since she’s referring to my as Ubergeek on her LiveJournal.
So, I talked to her on the phone tonight … Have any of you ever just been relaxed from talking someone? Tonight, just the sound of her voice calmed me down and relaxed me. The more we talk, the more sure I feel about my feelings for her, and the more I really just want to be with her …
There was a lot more to this, but I skimmed it down because I lost a lot of it to a software malfunction that forced me to reboot my laptop …
And I know she’s going to read this, and I kind of hope she comments.
