On a Lighter Note …

Onyx, the ever-faithful lady who’s been supporting yours truly during today’s mess deserves a little something special. So, I stole a little something from my buddy Steven Harris.
Today Sucked
by Jeremy on Jul.31, 2006, under Uncategorized
Today wasn’t exactly the best day for me. I got buried under a lot of work, at the beginning of the afternoon. Which wasn’t particularly a bad thing, because none of it was hard. It’s just tedious, repetitive, and gets really boring after about three hours of doing it. For those of you who haven’t caught on, no I haven’t done any programming work today. Except for a minor bugfix.
So, at about 2-ish, I get an e-mail from the game admin over at Geas informing me that I’ve been banned from the game. I’m not going to go into some huge flamefest here, because I did get what I probably deserved. I overreacted to a lot of information that I later found out was false. It still sucks because that MUD was by far the best I’ve ever played and I’m going to miss a lot of the people I role played with on there. The wizards did a good job of making me look like the bad guy, and I admitedly did a bunch of stupid things out of anger, but I hope none of the actual players hold it too strongly against me. As much as I’d like to stay in touch with some of them, I don’t want it to look like I’m trying to get other players to stop playing because of what happened to me.
In any case, it doesn’t stop there. We had what could’ve been another perfect plan to finally get Onyx out here and her mother shot it down. No surprise, there. Again, I’m not going to go into a huge flamefest, because I’ve already taken my aggression out on my headphones which are now laying in the garbage can in several pieces.
So, as the day goes on, things get progressively worse as I’m upset because of the shootdown of the plans and the Geas banning, and more and more work is being levied on me that has to be done at a certain time… Then came the breaking point. In the middle of work, my computer was hit by something very mysterious but it seemed like a virus was taking control of a lot of things. Internet Explorer locked down. I killed it and couldn’t start it back up. The task manager refused to function, and my anti-virus program flat-out died. So, after everything that had already built up, I just snapped. Yanked my headphones off and hurled them in a random direction where they managed to slam against the bookshelf and shatter into several pieces. I shut my computer down and when I calmed down enough to come back upstairs, I turned it back on to try to assess the problem and everything just worked.
In any case, I’ve been getting a lot of “We’re going to miss you on Geas” notes today, so I want to extend my gratitude to those of you who may read my blog. I’m going to miss all of you, too.
I tell you what… I do everything efficiently. What’s a better way to eliminate a distraction than to get yourself banned from it, eh?
Sorry Onyx

I just realized after looking through some things that I actually sold our relationship short to Vurdijak, last night. It’s actually been almost two months since we’ve been together, not just one. So, sorry for being forgetful, dear.
Blind Guardian USA Tour
by Jeremy on Jul.28, 2006, under General Ramblings
So, I found out today from an old friend of mine, the same one that originally introduced me to Blind Guardian, that the band was going to be taking a Tour of the States. And they’ll actually be coming to my state, now that I don’t live in nowheresville Alabama, anymore. Tour information is on the website, for those who are interested: Blind Guardian Website
Super Busy
by Jeremy on Jul.28, 2006, under Uncategorized
So, things have been consistently busy this entire time, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to settled down for quite some time. Trying to keep up with everything and this blog too is just about impossible, but I’m still trying. Give me some time to get a little more organized about it.
Feeling Nostalgic

I was feeling nostalgic, earlier. Have a look at what I dug up:
Another Round-Up
by Jeremy on Jul.05, 2006, under Uncategorized
Things have been really busy in CU-land. Due to contracts and NDAs and stuff I can say anything more than that, but just know that I have been seriously busy.
The other night we were planning on cooking hamburger helper again, but I was in the middle of something when Jason got ready to cook, so he got all pissed off and had a sandwich and a cigarette. Well, I had decided that I was going to have hamburger helper, damn it. So, I was on the phone with Onyx and down there thawing and cooking up the hamburger meat. Now keep in mind that this is the first meal that I have *ever* cooked. So, three-fourths of the way through the process, I’m mixing up the almost finished product and go “Oh my god, I’m cooking!” … I thought it was funny, anyway. The great thing about it is the fact that, for my first meal, it turned out surprisingly well. It was really good. So, that was great.
And I just got my birthday present from Onyx. A little late, but that’s okay. First off, the card she made is really cute. On the front, it’s got some snowmen wishing another snowman a happy birthday with a cake and candles and all. And on the inside, the birthday snowman has melted and the other snowmen are like “Oops.” and it says “Happy Un-Birthday Love, Onyx” (some names have been changed to protect the innocent).
The big thing in the envelope was the drawing she did. Any of you who have been keeping up with us know that we’re into sunsets. I personally, think they’re beautiful. So, the drawing is of a sunset between two trees, and it’s really awesome. I’m going to be keeping it here where I work so I’ll see it everyday and it’ll remind me of her.
I love you, sweetie. Thanks a lot, it’s really great!
