31 Years Old …

by Jeremy on Aug.12, 2006, under General Ramblings

Heh… Yeah, this sounds about right. What do you think?

You Are 31 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view – and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what’s to come… love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You’ve had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You’ve been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Word Count

by Jeremy on Aug.08, 2006, under Uncategorized

Just an update to let everyone know about the word count thing on the right. I read what she wrote in 2005 and loved it, so I’m going to support her in her effort in 2006. I encourage any of my friends who may want to as well to e-mail me and I’ll send you the code to pull the word count.

Looking forward to reading the finished work in December, sweetie. ;)

Edit: Actually, you can go ahead and get the word count code from here, if you want it. Obviously, I didn’t go into any real detail in parsing the XML, I was just picking the word count out of it. Enjoy.

Here We Go Again …

by Jeremy on Aug.06, 2006, under Uncategorized

For those of you who are unaware, a freak electrical storm fried my laptop not too long ago. Thankfully, it was replaced, but I lost a good bit of data, because the hard drive was just flat-out fried. Well, one of the more important documents that I lost was the functional specification for the Complete Download Experience product that I’m working on at Completely Unique. I decided that I’m going to use today to catch up on a few things CU-related, so I’ve cracked Microsoft Word and Visio open and I’m going to attempt to get some of this thing thrown back together …

Here’s to backing stuff up more often …

Counter Bug

by Jeremy on Aug.05, 2006, under General Ramblings

I was recently informed that there was a bug in the counter script I was using here on my blog. Apparently, it was incrementing twice for every visit to the blog. I tracked down the bug and figured out what was wrong. Needless to say, it’s fixed now. And I was able to run a query on the database to adjust the count to its proper level. So, there’s been a pretty considerable drop in the number of hits on the right, but this is the accurate count now.

YouTubing …

by Jeremy on Aug.05, 2006, under General Ramblings

… if that’s even a word.

I took a quick trip to YouTube from a friend’s blog who had linked to the Zidane headbutt video, but YouTube had to take it down because FIFA complained and such. Anyway, I peeked around and found a rendition of “To Zanarkand” that this girl played on piano. But, that’s not what got me. There’s a handful of good pieces that this other kid plays that I found. And I’m going to share one here with you. To save 56k’ers like my sweetie Onyx, I’ll break this up so it doesn’t show up on the index.

*headdesk*

by Jeremy on Aug.04, 2006, under Uncategorized

So, I attempt to take a break from my other work responsibilities for a little while so I can try to squeeze some programming in … But, apparently I’ve been away from it for so long that I’ve developed a nice little case of coder’s block. I can’t seem to get going at all, and it really sucks.

*sigh* Hopefully, I can get around this and back in the swing of things, soon …

I Win (x2)

by Jeremy on Aug.04, 2006, under Uncategorized

[12:16] Jeremy: No one could possibly have a cooler boss than I do. Bill Gates doesn’t even compare to John Fisher, after all of this. :P
[12:16] Brice: Yeah.
[12:17] Brice: You really are the luckiest man in the world. ;)
[12:17] Jeremy: Heh.
[12:17] Jeremy: Got the best job… Best boss… Great friends… The most wonderful woman any guy could ask for … I’m almost jealous of myself, here. :P
[12:18] Brice: Haha.
[12:18] Brice: Don’t go all insane on me here.

I win again.
