I Win

by Jeremy on Aug.03, 2006, under Uncategorized

So, we finally found a sure-fire way to get Onyx out here. Basically, I’m just going to go get her. Easy enough, huh? Bus out there and then bus us both back. Simple.

I win.

Review: PC Tools Antivirus

by Jeremy on Aug.02, 2006, under Uncategorized

I’ve been fighting with what was apparently a Trojan for the past couple of days. Now, I’m running a new Toshiba Satellite that was bought from Best Buy, so it’s got a lot of the usual default crap. McAfee is defaulted to the machine, and it’s one of those where you can’t take it off without screwing a bunch of stuff up defaults, too. So, I just have to disable it and hope for the best. Anyway, I tried the AVG Free Edition, which I quickly found out isn’t worth crap. Because, it found a few really minor things when it scanned and removed them, but this virus killed it. I couldn’t even get it to start, much less scan.

So, I got a copy of PC Tools Antivirus. A paid, legal copy, mind you. Scanned my computer with it and it found and removed the Trojan and everything’s working perfectly again. The initial scan takes quite some time, though. Long enough for me to have a nap and get back up to see the ending portion of the scan. But, all and all, it’s a solid product and I’ll be using it for my Antivirus Software from today on. I’ve also got the PC Tools Spyware Remover which is an excellent product, as well. I recommend them both.

Daily Thought: Proud

by Jeremy on Aug.01, 2006, under Daily Thoughts

I’m a guy who thinks you should always be proud of your accomplishments. And I think one of the bigger steps in my career was starting to work at Completely Unique. Heck, that pretty much is my career, now. Well, when I got on-board the CU Team, I was given the opportunity to take the Zend PHP Certification Exam. I passed. As such, the ZCE Button is up at the top right corner of the blog, again.

I also intend to take the PHP 5 Certification exam they’re working on, as well. Not to mention any other certification exam I feel comfortable spending the money on. Here’s to passing the PHP 5 version.

Edit: By the way, I took the Exam back in February. So, congratulations now aren’t necessary. ;) Also, you can now click the button up top to view my ZCE Page on Zend Technologies’ website.
