Back to College

I was waiting for the results of the entrance / placement exam to come back, before I put anything up. But, after doing some head-hunting, some research, poking around at my options, comparing schools, and making a firm decision on what I can do based on my work schedule, I’ve decide to go back to College. I’ll be attending DeVry University in mostly night and online courses. I just got an e-mail from the Admissions Advisor:
Hey Jeremy!
I just wanted to let you know that you ARE as smart as we thought.
You did awesome on your test. CONGRATS!
See you tomorrow for FA!Michele Weitzen

Wow. That’s a pretty cool thing to get as an e-mail, don’t you think? Awesome job, Jeremy. Congratulations.

I’m so flipping proud of you, hunny. I knew you could do it.
I’m rooting for you, always.

I know this is kinda late, but don’t you think you could go to a better college than DeVry?
from an article on digg:
“benpopken: You would think the rewards would be greater. Handling technology and what not. At least that’s what the Devry commercials tell me.
hashand: Devry’s a whole other scam. Going to community college or devry for computers gets you basically nothing. An AS in computer science is worth less than just being earnest about technology and having used linux in high school for a couple years. When you get out of school and find out you’re 20 grand in debt and your job prospects are nil. What do you expect of someone? People just need to treat computer repair the same way they’d treat a home contractor or anything else. You want to meet the person who’ll be overseeing your work and you don’t want that person to be 22 years old and wearing a pot leaf shirt.”
